Some of the media like to say the U.S. government is broken, but when it comes to the Internet, that’s not necessarily so. In this side-by-side comparison of weekly snapshots of the top government and industry sites, the government is clearly a better performer, with an index time fully half a second faster than business, and only two sites that took longer than three seconds to load, versus 11 for the private sector.
