LONDON, ENGLAND, — October 14, 2008 — Keynote Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN),the global leader in on-demand mobile and Internet test & measurement solutions for continuously improving the online experience, today announced that RBI UK, part of the business division of Reed Elsevier Group PLC, the world leading publisher and information provider, has selected Keynote WebEffective®. RBI UK plans to use WebEffective to ensure that its online offering provides the highest quality end user experience.
WebEffective is an on-demand software application for conducting in-depth customer experience research. WebEffective enables users to gain valuable insight about their customers’ online behaviour and attitudes, and to leverage that insight to drive a more effective Web presence.
“Our portfolio of Web sites are a key part of our business, so making sure we place the user at the centre of our thinking and Web site design is vitally important to us, said Diane Lewis, head of research and user experience for Reed Business Information UK. “WebEffective usability testing allows us to get closer to our users and understand how they interact with our Web sites, thus helping us to ensure we can provide high quality and intuitive Web sites,” continued Lewis.
WebEffective will extend RBI UK user experience testing tools. Explained Lewis, “We regularly use usability labs and online user surveys to assess our Web sites and Keynote WebEffective will further enhance our capabilities in this area. This tool gives us the flexibility to research user interaction in a range of ways depending on the objectives of a project or the type of users we need to reach. WebEffective will also allow us to record detailed clickstream data of a large sample of users as they complete real-life user scenarios on our Web sites, allowing us to test specific usability issues across wide cross-sections of users.”
RBI UK has completed a pilot survey of 100 users and has been pleased with the results. Said Lewis, "We wanted to be sure that people would respond to the tool and interact with the site. Not only did we achieve a high response rate, users also gave us a great deal of useful detail in response to the open-ended questions in the tasks.”
Said Martin Stern, regional manager for Keynote's UK office, “WebEffective is the only research tool for Web site usability testing that allows users to capture their customer’s complete online experience. It supports large user samples to provide reliable information on their attitudes and behaviour. RBI UK is a perfect example of a company achieving the benefits for which WebEffective was intended.”
