SAN MATEO, California — April 1, 2002 — Keynote Systems, (Nasdaq:KEYN), the Internet Performance Authority® today announced that LoadPro™ (formerly KeyReadiness), Keynote's out-sourced load testing service, has been awarded finalist status by Network Computing, a CMP Media LLC magazine, for a 2002 Well-Connected Award in the category of network and systems management. LoadPro won the Network Computing "Editors Choice Award" (June 11, 2001 http://www.networkcomputing.com/1212/1212f22.html) for its ability to deliver realistic, pre-and post-deployment load tests by profiling the behavior of Web users to accurately reflect the Internet's dynamic environment.

"We are especially honored that LoadPro is being considered for this award," said Marilyn Kanas, vice president of marketing and public services at Keynote. "Crashes and performance problems caused by a high volume of visitors are very serious and costly for businesses and getting an accurate and realistic test requires complex information. Keynote continues to advance the state-of-the-art in Web load testing and we're proud and pleased to receive such recognition for our efforts from this prestigious publication."

This year, the winners of the Network Computing Well-Connected Awards (http://www.nwcwellconnected.com/index.asp) will be announced at a gala event the evening before NetWorld+Interop 2002, one of the industry's largest trade shows, opens in Las Vegas. All Finalists will be highlighted in the May 13th issue of Network Computing and also on Network Computing Online at http://www.networkcomputing.com.

LoadPro brings an unprecedented new degree of accuracy and realism to the load testing market, which until now has consisted of software solutions retrofitted from the client/server days when load was static, not dynamic, as it is on the Internet. LoadPro models actual user behavior on a Web site and then scales that load up across multiple geographies, leveraging Keynote's worldwide infrastructure of measurement computers, allowing e-businesses to predict outcome and plan for unexpected "hit storms." LoadPro is a full-service solution that includes all necessary hardware, software, bandwidth and testing expertise.

"No other annual awards program in the industry uses hands-on evaluations to choose its winners," said Fritz Nelson, Publisher of CMP's Network Computing. "Our editors worked at length to research and test the best offerings in the enterprise arena. Being named a Well-Connected Award Finalist is a true reflection of product quality rather than merely product popularity or marketing effectiveness."
