SAN MATEO, California — April 3, 2002 — Keynote Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN), The Internet Performance Authority®, announced that its 2002 Global Internet Performance Conference™ (GIPC) will be held June 9 – 11 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco.

Keynote's Internet performance conference is the premier event for IT professionals charged with responsibility for ensuring the availability and performance of large scale Web sites. Geoffrey Moore, the nationally known business strategist, presenter and best selling author of Crossing the Chasm, Inside the Tornado, The Gorilla Game, and Living on the Fault line, will open the conference as the Keynote speaker.

The nature of today's new Web environment is increasingly complex and distributed and the advent of Web Services has only increased that complexity. These facts coupled with a constrained economy in which IT executives must leverage the investments already made in their e-business infrastructure make this year's GIPC more vital and important than ever before.

Attendees at the GIPC will learn best practice Web performance techniques from the world's leading Internet experts all gathered together to discuss the very latest issues, challenges and solutions for managing e-business performance and assuring Quality of Experience (QoE) from the end user perspective both inside and outside the firewall.

Benefits of attending include learning how to:

  • Leverage investments already made in your e-business infrastructure under a constrained economy.
  • Implement the latest technology and tools the world's leading companies use to measure, diagnose, test, manage and improve the performance of their e-business applications and infrastructure.
  • Develop and enforce SLAs through customized performance reports and third-party data.
  • Discover how new initiatives such as Web Services are changing business processes and making monitoring, diagnostic, and management tools more critical than ever before.
  • Build ‘best practice' techniques from the world's leading experts in the field of application performance management.

The 2002 GIPC features educational sessions, keynote speeches, best practice techniques, tips, tricks and tutorials aligned along three tracks covering Keynote's services and the strategic business and IT issues related to assuring optimal e-business Web performance:

1. Keynote Systems Track: This track will shed light on the advanced diagnostic, application performance management (APM), wireless and testing services Keynote uses to improve the quality of e-business worldwide. Learn how to decrease mean-time-to-repair using Keynote data, integrate external performance measurements into your existing enterprise management software (EMS) system and minimize the risks of load-related performance issues.

2. Technology Track: Join a panel of the world's leading Internet experts for an in-depth look at issues related to e-Business performance, including Web services and application integration.

3. Business Track: This track will explore the ROI of application performance and service level management (SLM) services, the value of outsourced services versus software, and best practices for managing increasingly complex infrastructures despite decreasing IT budgets.

"The theme of this year's GIPC is e-business performance in a sea of change and focuses on the next wave of the Internet, the e-Business platform, and how companies are using it to improve operational efficiency and quality of service for customers," said Umang Gupta, chairman and CEO of Keynote. "Participants will learn how to proactively measure, manage, diagnose and improve the performance of their e-business Web sites, online applications and overall Internet infrastructure to ensure end-user satisfaction."

The Keynote GIPC is targeted at CIOs, CTOs, VPs or directors of technology, information systems or quality assurance, engineers, marketing or Web managers, application development managers and operations management personnel. Attendees registering for the conference by May 10 will receive an early bird discount and be charged $995.00. After May 10 the price for attending the conference is $1,295.00. Keynote customers will receive $100.00 off of the registration fee. For a limited time, Keynote is offering two registrations for the price of one.
