New Tivoli Adapter from Keynote Integrates 'Outside-in' Web Performance Management Service with IBM Tivoli Software

Certified as "Tivoli Ready" by IBM; Seamless Integration Results in Faster Trouble Ticketing, Tracking and Problem Resolution

SAN MATEO, California — December 10, 2002 — Keynote Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN) today announced the release of the Keynote® Tivoli Adapter, part of Keynote's Enterprise Perspective® family of services, which gives operations centers using Tivoli immediate access to external performance and availability alerts from their existing IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console (T/EC). The Tivoli Adapter allows customers using T/EC to pinpoint performance issues on both sides of the firewall, manage end- to- end performance and consolidate alerts into a single console for faster trouble ticketing, tracking and resolution. Any enterprise using Tivoli software can now incorporate the leading Web application performance data and alerts from Keynote and fully leverage the value of the Tivoli software they are already using.

Keynote Tivoli Adapter provides the industry's only secure system for delivering external performance events through the firewall into the enterprise, supports greater operational efficiency, expands the realm of possibilities to integrate Keynote performance data with existing applications and management systems and extends Keynote's enterprise integration strategy designed to meet the needs of the application performance management (APM) market. With Keynote APM solutions, customers can monitor, identify, diagnose and repair end-to-end e-business performance problems quickly and accurately. The Keynote Tivoli Adapter has been certified as "Ready for Tivoli" for its seamless integration of Keynote RedAlert™ and Perspective alarms into the IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console.

Keynote Tivoli Adapter is continuing evidence of Keynote executing on its strategy to be the performance management leader by integrating with all large enterprise management software (EMS) to deliver on its commitment of providing ‘Total Performance Management' for benchmarking, testing and managing the end-to-end performance of e-business applications and systems. Keynote also supplies an adapter to integrate with CA Unicenter and an SNMP Adapter that integrates with any SNMP-capable application to securely incorporate performance alarms on external or internal Web-based events.

"Customers who use Tivoli for overall enterprise management will benefit by having Keynote alerts from around the globe processed into the same console where all the Web and back-end systems monitoring information is acted upon," said Anne Catambay, director of partnerships for Keynote. "The Tivoli Adapter is consistent with Keynote's overall application performance management strategy which gives enterprise customers the ability to leverage their existing IT investments in software and hardware to actively manage the total performance of their e-business systems."

"The ‘Ready for Tivoli' certification designates that third party services or products meet key integration standards for manageability by Tivoli software," said Bob Madey, vice president, performance and availability, IBM Tivoli Software. "By consolidating Keynote alerts into the same console they already use, customers can increase the value of their Tivoli investment, correlate internal events with external events to pinpoint the causes of network problems quickly and accurately, leverage the Tivoli Enterprise Console to maintain efficiency and keep infrastructure costs to a minimum and gain end-to-end visibility over performance"
