SAN MATEO, Calif., — July 8, 2003 — Keynote Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN), the global leader in Web performance management services, today announced Transaction Perspective® 5.0, a significant new and enhanced version of the leading outsourced service for Web performance measurement, monitoring, benchmarking, trending and analysis of an enterprise’s most critical or ‘money path’ transactions from the end user perspective.
The new version of Transaction Perspective provides increased value to customers requiring 24/7 assurance that their most important e-business transactions are performing optimally (measurement from up to 50 cites worldwide), and from tier one Internet backbones. No other Web transaction performance measurement or monitoring service comes close in terms of accuracy and realism of its measurements, error, alarm and diagnostic capabilities, breadth of geographic coverage and ability to measure the performance impact of today’s most complex and advanced transactions on end users. The new release underscores Keynote’s continued technology and marketing leadership in outsourced Web performance management services.
Transaction Perspective 5.0 adds many important new features and functionality for measuring accurately, realistically and representatively the effect on end user performance and availability – at an individual page, content and network component-level detail – of multi-protocol transactions that incorporate the most sophisticated Web transaction programming techniques in use today including Web services, Web DAV, ActiveX, dynamic date/time support, file upload, XML and Flash 6.0 plug-ins and digital certificates.
In addition to adding enhanced support for accurately and representatively measuring complex and secure transactions, the browser residing on Keynote’s global infrastructure of transaction measurement computers has been upgraded to support Internet Explorer 6.0, the dominant browser in use today. Marrying Keynote’s existing single-threaded measurement computers together with support for Internet Explorer 6.0 and advanced plug-ins, brings customers the highest degree of accuracy and realism, or ‘fidelity,’ possible for their transaction measurements.
As part of Transaction Perspective 5.0, users are provided with a new common transaction script recorder (see section below).
“Our new Transaction Perspective 5.0 service underscores our industry leadership position in Web performance management services and provides our customers with the premier outsourced service for assuring and optimizing the quality of experience of their online applications from the only perspective that matters, the end user,” said Arnold Waldstein, vice president of marketing and business development for Keynote.
“Keynote is an innovative company that works diligently to anticipate and meet our needs,” said Jay Brodsky, vice president, technology, Tribune Media Services. “TMS uses Keynote’s transaction measurements to continually improve the performance, connectivity, and uptime of our online products, including our new efforts in the Web services arena. TMS customers rely on the dependability of our Web sites and Web services, and Keynote data has been a valuable tool in assuring peak performance levels.”
“Keynote’s transaction service provides us with an easy-to-use, easy-to-understand data stream to evaluate the performance of our Web-based services,” said Ron Williams, senior manager of technology, EarthLink Operations Center. “Information from Keynote’s enhanced Transaction Perspective service helps us expand our measuring capabilities beyond most traditional Web-content performance tools and provide the best possible customer experience through EarthLink’s Personal Start PageSM, Web Mail and other Web-services content.”
New Common Transaction Script Recorder
Transaction Perspective 5.0 includes a new common Web transaction script recorder that provides a single user interface, or ‘look and feel,’ for recording the individual pages of a transaction and then uploading that transaction to Keynote’s global infrastructure of measurement computers.
A common recorder allows users to become familiar with one easy-to-use user interface for all script development, whether for measurement, monitoring or load testing. For instance, a script initially developed for load testing using Keynote Test Perspective can be redeployed for ongoing site monitoring using Red Alert™ Performance Tracker or Transaction Perspective.
And to allow for the easy creation of scripts that support advanced and ‘intelligence-based’ Web transactions, the common recorder now offers enhanced support for: customized conditionals, required and error text validations, Boolean logic for conditionals, dynamic dates management for script resiliency (also known as ‘DHTML’) and digital certificates for client authentication.
Pricing and Availability
Transaction Perspective 5.0 is priced starting at $1,295.00 per month (5 pages/10 cities), and will be available beginning August 15.
