Keynote Systems Introduces New Behind-the-Firewall Web Performance Management Services

New Total Performance Management Solutions for End-to-End Operational Monitoring, Root Cause Diagnostics, Load Testing and Performance Measurement

NEW YORK CITY, Global Internet Performance Conference — October 27, 2003 — Keynote Systems (Nasdaq “KEYN”), the worldwide leader in Web performance measurement and management services, today announced significant new services for optimizing e-business application quality in the areas of end-to-end operational monitoring, root cause diagnostics, load testing and performance measurement. The new services underscore Keynote’s commitment to bring enterprise customers Total Performance Management (TPM) through a growing portfolio of extremely cost-effective Web performance services. The overarching goal of TPM is to enable the enterprise to efficiently link IT resources to e-business goals.

The challenge facing every enterprise company today is to efficiently and cost-effectively manage e-business application performance in order to ensure that the customer experience is always an optimal one. Paramount to this challenge is the ability to quickly detect, triage, diagnose and repair pre-production and post-production e-business application performance. Keynote’s new services are designed to provide the most cost-effective answers to these critical challenges.

“The new services announced today position Keynote further inside the firewall and complement the existing enterprise management software our customers already have,” said Umang Gupta, chairman and CEO of Keynote. “The solutions extend and expand Keynote’s portfolio of TPM services for benchmarking, diagnosing, testing and managing e-business systems.”

Keynote’s New TPM Solutions Include:

  • Keynote Application Perspective® – The industry’s most comprehensive, end-to-end monitoring and root cause diagnostics solution for e-business applications at the lowest total cost of ownership. Application Perspective is the linchpin in Keynote’s strategy to bring enterprises e-business application performance management (APM) solutions that previously have been delivered with more complex software implementations. The new service is being introduced today with HP as Keynote’s first partner. (See separate press releases.)
  • Keynote Performance Scoreboard – A customized portal for the visual management of service level objectives for multi-property, multi-location e-businesses. Performance Scoreboard is designed for customers with complex e-business environments showing the overall health of a company’s multiple data centers, properties, VPNs and suppliers. Keynote Performance Scoreboard enables customers to track service level objectives (SLOs), quickly identify application and network latency issues before performance degrades and analyze trends and infrastructure details using on-demand drill-down diagnostic tools. Performance Scoreboard can be used as an optional portal for Application Perspective. (See separate press release.)
  • Keynote PerformanceTune – An outsourced tuning service that combines Keynote’s load testing infrastructure with detailed back-end monitoring to isolate and repair performance bottlenecks. (See separate press release.)
  • Keynote Test Perspective for Siebel 7 – A load testing service that utilizes Keynote’s load-generation infrastructure to help companies validate the performance of their entire Siebel 7 application infrastructure. Test Perspective for Siebel 7 allows enterprise customers to cost-effectively optimize the performance and scalability of Siebel eBusiness Applications using Keynote’s pay-as-you-go hosted services-based approach, rather than more costly and complex load testing software, such as that provided by Mercury Interactive. (See separate press release.)
  • Keynote Wireless Perspective 3.0 – An enhanced version of Keynote’s existing wireless performance management service with support for camera phones, Push To Talk (PTT) and Multimedia Message Service (MMS). (See separate press release.)
  • Keynote Web Site Perspective Lite Agent Groups – A cost-effective option for outside-in Web page measurements from a broad number of geographic locations.
