NEW YORK CITY— October 27, 2003 — At the opening of Keynote’s (NASDAQ “KEYN”) annual Global Internet Performance Conference, the company announced that it will integrate Keynote Application Perspective® with HP OpenView Web application management software to provide a comprehensive solution for operational monitoring and root cause diagnostics of critical e-business applications at a low total cost of ownership.
Under the terms of the agreement, the companies have named each other as preferred solution partners.
HP OpenView Web Application Solution includes OpenView Internet Services, OpenView Transaction Analyzer and Web application Smart Plug-ins. The solution provides application operations managers with a comprehensive understanding of current application performance measured against service level requirements. It provides problem isolation and the ability to breakdown transactions to the component level, reducing the triage process from days to minutes. HP OpenView software is recognized as a leader in Web application problem diagnosis and transaction analysis for the J2EE and Microsoft environments.
By integrating with HP OpenView Web Application Solution, Keynote Application Perspective provides application support personnel and operations managers responsible for managing and maintaining critical e-business applications with the industry’s most comprehensive, end-to-end monitoring and root cause diagnostics solution for e-business applications at a low total cost ownership. The new service delivers a real time, comprehensive view of performance and availability of a customer’s critical e-business processes from the end user perspective – invaluable for optimizing transaction application performance and for identifying and quickly repairing mission-critical e-business applications when problems do occur anywhere in the infrastructure. The solution enables an e-business to proactively track and very quickly pinpoint and repair n-tier architecture problems (including Web server, application server, database server) to speed problem resolution and eliminate the IT blame game.
“Our announcement today of Application Perspective and our integration with HP OpenView is a win/win for customers in need of cost-effective, end-to-end performance monitoring for optimizing Web applications,” said Arnold Waldstein, vice president of marketing and business development for Keynote. “The complexity of today's applications makes it much more difficult to diagnose performance related problems. With the combined power and market leadership of Keynote's synthetic global measurement infrastructure and HP's leadership in application problem diagnosis and transaction analysis, customers will now get the most comprehensive view of their business applications from end-to-end.”
“This integration will enable enterprise customers and service providers to include the external monitoring perspective to HP’s comprehensive Web application management suite,” said Todd DeLaughter, vice president and general manager, Management Software Organization, HP. “This new capability will factor in the impact of the Internet when monitoring and diagnosing application performance problems from an end-to-end perspective, helping lower meantime to repair and improving the quality of service.”
Availability and Pricing
Keynote will offer the Integration module as an option of the Application Perspective service for USD $1,000 per month. Customers will need to purchase HP OpenView Web application management software separately to enable the integration.
Select customers will have early access to the solution in December 2003. The integrated solution is expected to be generally available in Q1 2004.
