Keynote Systems Announces Performance Scoreboard; New Service Level Management Portal for E-Business Applications

Keynote Performance Scoreboard Displays the Overall Health of Multiple Data Centers, Properties and Applications in a Single Pane

NEW YORK CITY, Global Internet Performance Conference — October 27, 2003 — Keynote Systems (Nasdaq “KEYN”), the worldwide leader in Web performance measurement and management services, today announced the launch of Keynote Performance Scoreboard – a new, customized portal for the visual management of service level objectives for multi-property, multi-location e-businesses. The new portal underscores Keynote’s commitment to bring enterprise customers Total Performance Management (TPM) through a growing portfolio of cost-effective Web performance measurement and management services. The overarching goal of TPM is to enable the enterprise to efficiently link IT resources to e-business goals.

Keynote Performance Scoreboard provides customers with a customized portal for viewing the performance health of all their properties, locations and data centers at a glance. The customized portal provides summary reporting by geography, measurement, backbone and component and drill down diagnostic capability.

Performance Scoreboard can be used as a component of today’s newly announced Keynote Application Perspective service, the industry’s most comprehensive end-to-end monitoring and root cause diagnostics solution for e-business applications at the lowest total cost of ownership. Performance Scoreboard’s portal-based interface allows easy sharing of data with multiple parties, internal or external, supports access based on hierarchical log-in privileges, provides insight into performance with an at-a-glance graphical view of business-level performance, as well as network data which can be plotted over time. Simple navigation takes the user to the appropriate metric of interest with ease and allows detailed graphs to be created quickly and efficiently for problem identification. With Performance Scoreboard customers can conduct fast triage with on-demand, context-sensitive drill-down diagnostic tools to quickly identify Internet congestion points.

Performance Scoreboard is fully integrated with Keynote’s new Internet Health Report that measures the performance of all the important backbones in the United States. With this integration, Performance Scoreboard customers can now view the performance status of all their own individual Keynote measurements next to the performance measurements taken from all the major backbones for faster and more efficient detection, triage, diagnosis and repair when e-business application performance degrades.

Finally, Performance Scoreboard allows users to build ad hoc scatter plot and trend charts for post-event triage and historical baselining, and to visually monitor the performance of distributed data centers, server farms and 3rd party provider performance in real time.

“Performance Scoreboard is a significant advancement in application performance management because it gives business owners a scalable, easy-to-use console view of service levels so they can track performance versus established goals. It facilitates more effective and efficient communication and collaboration between C-level executives, operations and the rest of the organization,” said Arnold Waldstein, vice president of marketing and business development for Keynote. “Ultimately, Performance Scoreboard connects the people, processes and technology of an enterprise to more effectively manage the e-business.”
