SAN MATEO, Calif., — June 29, 2004 — Keynote Systems (Nasdaq “KEYN”), the worldwide leader in Web performance measurement and management services, was the recipient last week of the 2004 Mayor’s Award presented by The San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of San Mateo. The Mayor's Award is given to a business or individual that the Mayor of San Mateo wishes to honor based on their community giving.
Umang Gupta, chairman and CEO of Keynote, attended the Chamber’s 9th Annual Business Awards dinner on June 24 and accepted the Mayor’s Award on behalf of all the employees of Keynote. The Chamber and City of San Mateo’s annual awards program is designed to recognize businesses who have contributed time and resources to make San Mateo a better community. Additional commendations for Keynote’s ‘giving back’ were received by Congressman Tom Lantos and the California Assembly. As San Mateo makes its home to many large companies including Webcor Builders, Siebel Systems and Franklin Resources, Keynote is very honored to receive this award.
“We are very proud that Keynote chooses to be headquartered here. The company is the model for being a great corporate citizen,” said Carole Groom, Mayor of the City of San Mateo. “Behind every business is someone leading the company, often making sacrifices of time or money for their business to be successful. Over the years, we have been touched by Umang Gupta’s business philosophy of giving back to the community. We are grateful for Keynote’s commitment to community service and extend our best wishes to the company for continued success.”
“I am very pleased and proud to accept this award on behalf of all of Keynote’s employees,” said Umang Gupta. “We strive every day to be a leader in business and in the community. Congratulations to all the employees of Keynote who have worked tirelessly over the years at the many wonderful non-profit organizations in San Mateo including Parca, Samaritan House, Second Harvest Food Bank and The Turnbull Learning Academy.”
