Keynote Systems’ New Corporate Identity Represents the Company’s Growth and Diverse Offerings

  • New Keynote Corporate Mark and Brand Line Communicates the Company’s Evolution Providing Test & Measurement Services for Mobile, VoIP, Streaming and Web Performance
  • Keynote Marks 12 Years With A Look Back At the Emergence and Growth of the Internet

SAN MATEO, CALIF., — December 11, 2007 — Keynote Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN), the global leader in on-demand mobile and Internet test & measurement solutions for continuously improving the online experience, today officially announced its new corporate identity to reflect the company’s growth and diversification. The brand mark features a new three-dimensional design to reflect the company’s diverse offerings. Additionally, Keynote’s longtime brand line as “The Internet Performance Authority®” has been updated to “The Mobile and Internet Performance Authority™” to communicate the company’s position as a leading, independent, third-party company that monitors and tests the quality of mobile content, applications and services around the world.

“Keynote has seen tremendous growth and diversification in the past dozen years,” said Anshu Agarwal, executive director of marketing at Keynote. “Our new mark and brand line symbolizes the increased diversity of our solutions and of the role we continue to play as a trusted independent company helping connected businesses the world over manage and improve the online customer experience.”

The new Keynote corporate identity is intended to convey a multi-dimensional company, one that has branched out from its founding roots into new complementary technologies and markets. Keynote was founded in 1995 as a Web site performance measurement company, and over the past dozen years has expanded its technology solutions organically and through acquisition to provide a range of mobile and Internet test and measurement solutions.

“The “K” icon in the new corporate logo while preserving our heritage, has evolved to represent Keynote’s multi-dimensionality,” said Anshu Agarwal. “Keynote’s growth over the past decade really maps closely to the evolution of the online business strategy of our customers which now encompasses voice, streaming audio and video and the mobile Web.”

Today, Keynote offers a full range of solutions and services that enable customers to test, monitor and measure: mobile quality; Web performance; online customer experience; VoIP and streaming. The company continues to diversify into new complementary markets and expand its offerings. In 2007, Keynote built out the industry’s largest mobile test and measurement network, which allows testing and monitoring to support a full range of mobile networks and services.

“A corporate identity must be truly representative of a company’s products, aspirations and philosophy. When we first discussed the project with Keynote it was clear that the value they bring to their customers comes in multiple forms. Creating something that communicates this was challenging since it still had to be recognizable as the familiar Keynote brand,” said Neil Chaudhari, CEO of Propane Studios, an independent full service agency selected by Keynote for the project. “Keynote wanted a corporate identity that preserved its history and connection to customers while evolving to represent the diversity of its offerings.”

The newly designed logo is also intended to reflect the global reach of the company and the continually evolving nature of connected technologies such as smart mobile devices and 3G networks. To convey a sense of continuity and timelessness of the company’s mission, the new logo preserves the previous mark and coloring. From there the new mark evolves to employ a new, youthful custom-designed typeface to represent a company that is ever-innovative in its outlook.

“We wanted the new design to be both timeless and current, of the time. We believe we’ve succeeded in creating an identity that speaks to our strong foundation and rich history, while at the same time foreshadowing a bright future,” said Agarwal.
