Keynote Systems and FierceWireless to Lead Webinar Revealing Highlights of Industry’s First Study on Common Short Codes

  • Keynote Sets Industry Standard for Measuring Reliability and Responsiveness of SMS Messages Addressed to Common Short Codes (CSCs)
  • High-Level Performance Results of 24 CSC Revealed on Thursday, June 19 at 12:00 p.m. ET

SAN MATEO, CALIF., — June 17, 2008 — Keynote Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN), the global leader in on-demand mobile and Internet test & measurement solutions for continuously improving the online experience, today announced a Webinar with FierceWireless on Thursday, June 19 at 12:00 p.m. ET at which time Keynote will reveal important highlights of the industry’s first study on the performance, availability and success rates of SMS messages addressed to Common Short Codes (CSC).

This first-of-its-kind CSC study compares SMS message round-trip delivery time and average availability across 24 popular CSCs from the end-user point of view, demonstrating the variability and the importance of benchmarking the performance of CSCs. The results will cover the top-performing CSCs and analyze the variation in performance due to different carrier networks and different locations.

“Until now, content and application providers have had little or no visibility into the performance of their CSCs,” said Nisheeth Mohan, product manager for mobile at Keynote. “The implications of a poorly performing CSC are immense; poor customer experience can damage a company’s reputation and result in significant revenue losses.”

Common Short Codes represent a fast-growing channel offering companies direct communication with millions of consumers through SMS. Common Short Codes are four to six digit numeric codes to which text messages can be sent from a mobile phone for a whole host of applications such as accessing or buying mobile content (e.g. horoscopes, games, ring tones, coupons, etc.), voting for a favorite TV contest, or participating in a poll and can be leased by any company through an SMS aggregator.

The results of Keynote’s Common Short Code study will be provided during the Webcast.
