Web 2.0 Expo, New York — September 17, 2008 — Keynote® Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN), the global leader in on-demand mobile and Internet test & measurement solutions for continuously improving the online experience, today announced that more than 1,000 Web developers and IT professionals have downloaded KITE – Keynote Internet Testing Environment – in the first month of its early adopter program.

“We’re hearing great feedback from the early adopters who are facing new performance challenges as Web 2.0 applications become more sophisticated and cloud computing more pervasive,” said Rajeev Kutty, product manager at Keynote. “Now, our customers have a tool that allows them to face these challenges and solve performance issues directly from their desktop, no matter where in the world the problem resides.”

KITE early adopters are leveraging the product to solve performance problems of Web applications critical to their businesses. Mario Rivadeneira, database and systems administrator of Tu Group, which enables companies to deliver unique insurance and health care solutions, said, “For months, a customer had been experiencing slow access to our Web application, as well as timeouts. In the midst of researching the issue, we asked the customer to play a script using KITE. With KITE, we were able to identify the problem – a slow performing proxy on the customer’s side. We had already researched the problem on our end and KITE proved to be an invaluable tool to obtain data which reflected the customer’s perspective and pinpoint the real problem.”

By joining the KITE Early Adopter Program, Web developers, QA professionals, and performance analysts benefit from the ability to generate rapid performance data – with point and click ease – about the performance of their Web applications. The results gleaned from running Web transaction scripts in real time from multiple cities enable the various groups participating in the application management lifecycle (developers, QA engineers, performance analysts, Web Ops and IT) to work collaboratively to establish performance benchmarks either pre-application deployment or after deployment and to triage and resolve performance problems throughout the application management lifecycle.
